Hillcote is just a short walk from the centre of Wadebridge, a vibrant town that is located on the tidal River Camel. There’s plenty for the whole family to do in Wadebridge with many independent shops, a cinema, parks, playgrounds, leisure centre with swimming pool, tennis courts, football pitches, cricket ground, green bowls and a large selection of coffee shops and restaurants.
Wadebridge is an ideal base to explore North Cornwall and is in easy reach of popular destinations such as Rock, Polzeath, Port Isaac, Trevone, Padstow, Newquay and Bodmin Moor. A short drive from Hillcote will take you to some of the best bathing beaches in the county such as Trevone, Daymer Bay, Constantine Bay, Harlyn and Trebarwith Strand.
There are plenty of local attractions for families to enjoy on both sunny and rainier days such as Newquay Zoo and Newquay Blue Reef Aquarium, Camel Creek Adventure Park, Bodmin and Wenford Railway, Lanhydrock National Trust estate, Cardinham Woods, The National lobster hatchery at Padstow, Kidzworld Cornwall and many more.
Hillcote is also the perfect base to hire bicycles, or walk the fabulous Camel Trail, which takes the route of the old railway line that runs from Bodmin to Padstow. If you want to bring your own bikes, there's plenty of storage space.
